TAKAYAMA SHOTEN
– FOUNTAIN PEN ATELIER –
FINE JAPANESE FOUNTAIN PENS · SHIPPED FROM JAPAN
Product Information
Kaede is Japanese maple, and Pilot turned it into a pen barrel rather than covering it in lacquer, so every one of these is grained differently and none of them stays quite the same colour. Wood warms in the hand far faster than resin does, and it darkens slowly with years of being held, which is the point. The 14K gold nib is the same family Pilot puts in its Custom line, and the whole pen is light enough that the balance comes from the wood rather than from weight.
