~ History & Provenance:  These exceptional cufflinks feature the stamped hallmark of Sanju Saku, one of Japan's most celebrated master silversmiths. Operating out of the historic port city of Yokohama, the Sanju Saku workshop gained international acclaim for creating elite-tier export silver characterized by breathtaking hand-engravings and meticulous craftsmanship. While the workshop originally catered to international aristocrats during the late Meiji era, it continued its legendary production into the mid-20th century. This particular pair dates to the post-WWII era (c. 1950s–1960s), handcrafted in premium .950 high-purity silver as a luxury souvenir or presentation piece for Western military personnel and travelers. Featuring a hand-chiseled panoramic landscape of Mount Fuji, a traditional pagoda, and symbolic Matsu pine needles for longevity, it represents a magnificent piece of wearable Japanese art history.
