A striking curved wood teller window frame distinguished by sophisticated bowed construction, a radial fanlight-style upper section, and an operable curved sash that still moves smoothly within its wood-on-wood channel.

The frame measures approximately 34 inches tall by 17.75 inches wide and 4.75 inches deep, excluding the projecting sill. The sill extends to approximately 9 inches in depth. The movable sash provides approximately 8.5 inches of travel, with a clear window opening measuring approximately 13.5 inches wide. When fully opened, the vertical clearance measures approximately 7.5 to 8.5 inches depending on the point of measurement.

Particularly notable is the workmanship required to produce the bowed frame and matching movable sash. The curved components maintain remarkably close clearances while allowing the sash to open and close with relative ease. The upper section is arranged with radiating muntins around a central semicircular opening, giving the piece a strong architectural presence from either side.

The form closely corresponds to the type of complex curved window construction illustrated in George Collings' Circular Work in Carpentry & Joinery, first published in 1886. The surviving frame provides an impressive physical example of this specialized style of curved joinery.

Two mortised keyhole mounting plates are fitted to the rear sides of the frame for hanging or structural mounting. The frame is presently unglazed, with open sections throughout the sash and upper radial framework. No obvious glazing-retention system has been identified, and we cannot confirm whether glass was ever intended for this piece.

The frame weighs approximately 11 lb. 14.6 oz.

Overall condition is exceptional for a piece of this type. The sash remains fully operable and moves smoothly. There are scattered small nicks, scuffs, finish wear, and other minor signs of age and use throughout. No breaks or cracks were observed.
