So I brought with this with the intentions of using it and putting a new interior in but I simply don't have the time.
As you can expect with a vehicle this age it is a little rough in places.
Engine
Starts first time and sounds good.
Normal smoke on start up and then clears up.
Recent new starter motor, alternator and battery fitted.
Gearbox - Goes into all gears but the gear stick does have some play
Clutch appears to be good
Has had water ingress at one stage of its life which shows in the top kitchen cupboards but this appears to have been sorted and I havnt noticed any leaks in the short time I've owned it.
The zig unit appears to work as it should but the leisure battery has been disconnected and possibly bypassed. ( No idea why )
I have not tried the water heater or any of the gas appliances but I can hear the water pump when you switch it on.
Mot has just run out.
Looking underneath it has had welding in the past and looks to be quite solid in places but it is a 36 year old Talbot so likely more welding will be needed.
Some areas have been fiberglassed / filled around the bonnet area and windscreen. ( rather poorly in my opinion but it could be sorted )
Either the heater matrix has gone or the valve on the side of matrix as it has started to leak.
It's not perfect by any means but it's not bad for a 36 year old vehicle.
V5 hasn't arrived yet but should do in the next week
