A used Suhr Modern with a Floyd Rose tremolo system, ordered from an overseas dealer, has arrived! This is a used parallel import.
Suhr Guitars' mission is to create instruments that have the power to bring out amazing performance. The Modern series was born as a 24-fret modern-style guitar that follows that philosophy in every detail.
It features a smooth, thin, oval "Modern Elliptical .780-.830" grip maple neck, Suhr's classic flame maple top/basswood back asymmetrical body, and an innovative neck heel that is unmatched in playability and comfort. The Indian rosewood fingerboard has a 10-14 inch compound radius, and heavy-sized stainless steel frets support smooth fingering.
The absence of position markers on the fingerboard gives it a stoic and cool look. The pickups are a set of Aldrich pickups with nickel covers, providing the most powerful output in Suhr's lineup to support all kinds of playing in the high-gain range.
The controls are a simple configuration of Volume, Tone, and a 3-way toggle. Furthermore, it is equipped with a GOTOH Floyd Rose bridge, and the body has been recessed to accommodate aggressive whammy bar use.
It has a locking nut, so the tuning pegs are standard Sperzel type, not locking pegs. There are picking marks on the body top, buckle marks on the back, dents around the perimeter, and other minor scratches and dents.
The dents on the 6th string side horn and the lower right of the top have been touched up with clear coat. There are paint cracks in the neck pocket area of the body.
The neck has a satin finish, but has become glossy with use, and there is paint peeling on both sides of the neck. Other metal parts show rust and tarnish.
