This is a TAMA AW246 Artwood Snare Drum, a vintage Made in Japan maple snare from around the early 1990s.

The AW246 features an exceptionally heavy 12-ply, 9 mm all-maple shell, giving it a powerful, thick, and focused character with excellent projection.

The shell has a beautiful translucent coral / salmon-pink lacquer finish that allows the natural maple grain to show through.

A great vintage Japanese snare for collectors and players looking for a powerful maple sound suitable for rock, pop, and other high-energy styles.
