A traditional Indian Bayan, the larger bass drum of a tabla pair. This instrument features a metallic kettle-drum body, traditionally paired with the wooden Dayan. It utilizes a multi-layered goatskin head with a central permanent black tuning paste (syahi) and rawhide strap lacing for tension adjustment.

• Hand-applied syahi tuning spot for distinct harmonic overtones
• Includes decorative red fabric protective cover

Condition: Good pre-owned condition. The metal body shows minor surface oxidation and light wear consistent with use. The drum head is intact with visible wear and light cracking on the tuning paste, which is typical for pre-owned tabla. Rawhide straps are functional and hold tension. Red fabric cover included.
