Beautiful and unusual vintage Meiselman Italian figural bird tureen / covered serving dish, featuring a wonderfully detailed game bird resting in its nest.

The removable bird-shaped lid is beautifully modeled with dimensional feathers in rich brown, cream, amber and muted tones. The base is especially impressive, with heavily textured nest detailing, individually modeled leaves and other naturalistic accents surrounding the bird.

A striking example of vintage Italian decorative ceramics and a fantastic display piece for a collector of Meiselman, Italian majolica, figural tureens, game-bird décor or vintage serving ware.
