18TH CENTURY CHINESE QIANLONG BLUE & WHITE PORCELAIN VASE

A small Chinese blue and white porcelain vase dating to the Qianlong period (1736–1795).

The vase is painted in underglaze blue with flowering peonies and other plants growing amongst ornamental garden rocks, with further floral and decorative borders around the shoulder and neck.

The compact baluster form and dense blue and white decoration are characteristic of Chinese porcelain produced during the 18th century.

Date:

Qianlong period (1736–1795), 18th century.

Height:

Approx. 14.5 cm

Condition:

There is a hairline crack running down from the rim.

There is a further longer hairline crack to the body.

There are several small chips/nibbles around the foot rim.

There are also expected minor firing and age-related imperfections consistent with an 18th century porcelain piece.
