Antique blue spongeware / spatterware pottery plate measuring approximately 9½ inches across.

The plate features a bold cobalt-blue sponged border and circular blue spatter decoration in the center. The irregular application of the blue decoration gives it the distinctive handmade character associated with early spongeware and spatterware pottery.

The underside is unmarked.

Condition: This is an older piece with substantial age-related wear. There is a hairline crack extending inward from the rim, several small rim chips/nicks, crazing, staining/discoloration and surface wear. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the condition description.
