Because I take car maintenance seriously, I immediately took it to a BMW Specialist to be professionally checked. They performed a manual pressure test at both idle and under revs, and fully confirmed that the actual engine oil pressure is perfectly healthy and within factory specifications. The engine is mechanically sound and not starving of oil. The light is most likely a false reading due to a faulty oil pressure sensor or switch. I have the official garage invoice confirming these healthy pressure tests and a photo of this receipt is included in the listing for your peace of mind.
This is a fantastic, high-spec Sport Plus Edition that looks great and has just had a lot of money spent on brand new brakes. Priced fairly to reflect the intermittent dashboard light.
