Vintage P.D. Malloch of Perth Patent No. 13561 black japanned metal swing-leaf fly box, containing approximately 40 period dressed flies.

The box has the hinged central swing leaf, giving four fly-bearing faces fitted with metal retaining clips. The brass-coloured oval plate on the lid is clearly stamped Patent No. 13561.

The contents include numerous traditional fully dressed gut-eyed salmon flies, including several large and particularly decorative feather-wing examples, together with smaller salmon/sea-trout and other period flies. There is a good variety of traditional feather dressings, colours and sizes throughout.

The box measures approximately 6¼ x 4¼ inches closed. It is in well-used antique condition with scratches and marks to the black japanned exterior finish. The cream-painted interior has wear and areas of paint loss/flaking. The flies themselves vary in condition and show age and use.

International postage available.
