Antique invoice/billhead from the C.S. Morey Mercantile Co., Wholesale Grocers, corner of 19th and Wazee Streets in Denver, dated March 11, 1893. Billed to C.R. Alexander & Co. of Salida, Colorado, for two cases of S&C 100 Parlor matches and two cases of Laclede matches, with quantities and pricing noted by hand, totaling 4.53. Handwritten in period ink throughout, with a purple Denver and Pueblo Rates stamp.
Features a wonderful detailed engraving of the C.S. Morey Mercantile Company's five story building in Denver, complete with horse drawn wagons and figures on the street below, credited to The Denver Litho Co.
Excellent piece of Gilded Age wholesale grocery ephemera with a strong architectural engraving. Would appeal to collectors of Denver business history, match/matchbox ephemera, or Colorado paper Americana. Part of a small group of billheads in our shop documenting sales to the same Salida, Colorado merchant in 1893.
