New 1EA 6in Bench Grinder Eye Shield Kit. Designed and Made in USA, this kit includes:

• 1EA Stainless Steel Eye Shield Bracket Assembly. The bracket itself is also made of plasma cut, hand polished and formed 304 stainless steel so it is very corrosion resistant (especially compared to the original Baldor eye shields). The 5in x 4in acrylic pane is laser-cut from clear acrylic so that it has a nice, clean perimeter. These use stainless steel carriage screws with zinc-plated nylon-locknuts so that you can easily replace the acrylic panes (as they do get scratched over time).
  
  
• 1EA Stainless Steel Mounting Assembly. Plasma cut from 304 stainless steel with a 5/16" diameter stainless steel rod, this is very corrosion resistant and is designed to protect the paint from being chipped and scratched over time.
  
  
• Assorted Stainless Steel Mounting Hardware. Includes both styles of installation hardware (i.e., 1/4-20 carriage bolt and hex bolt) so that it can be used on either exhaust or non-exhaust 6in bench grinder models.

This design is a drop-in replacement for the common 5/16" dia rod mounting assemblies typically used by Baldor (such as the GA10 kit) and other 6in bench grinders that use a similar mounting style. For Baldor, they can be used on most all 6in Bench Grinders (610, 612, 612E, 612RE, 622, 622E, 622RE, 632, 632R, 632RE, 623, 623R, 623RE, 662, 662R, 662RE...etc.).

So Why Choose This Design?

• Maintenance: The original eye shield design, such as the ones used by Baldor PN GA10, used rivets to hold the Plexi-glass pane to the metal bracket. To replace the acrylic pane, you have to drill out the rivets. This new design uses stainless steel carriage bolts and nylon-locknuts so that they can be easily replaced.
  
  
• Life: Rod mounted eye shield assemblies (rod and shield bracket) are typically made from zinc-plated steel and are prone to rusting over time. This new design is made from stainless steel and is far more rust resistant.
  
  
• Performance: The original mounting rod style tends to rub hard against the paint, damaging it over time. This new design includes an oversized stainless steel washer to protect the surface.
  
  
• Flexible: This new design can be used on either the left-hand side or right-hand side of the bench grinder (it's completely reversible), so you don't have to worry about buying one for one side of the bench grinder vs the other side.
