Provenance & History: Purchased directly from the granddaughter of its original owner, who was the lead trumpet player for the Sapeurs-Pompiers de Paris (Paris Fire Brigade) in the early 20th century.
Condition & Mechanics: Mechanical condition: Fully serviced by a professional brass repairman. Valves (pistons) move smoothly with excellent action and compression. All tuning slides move freely.
Cosmetic condition: Superb vintage condition. The original patina has been carefully preserved during service. Outstanding floral/ornamental engravings on the slides and valve caps.
Markings: Features the famous "Exposition Universelle 1889 Médaille d'Or" stamp on the bell. The year stamp inside the grenade logo is blank, typical for Couesnon production/export batches from the 1920s-1930s.
Accessories: Included with its original vintage Guilbaut / Couesnon mouthpiece and its authentic original wooden "coffin" hard case (red interior, shows vintage wear, perfect for display or restoration).
