Condition: Very good condition, minor short tear to top margin and slight losses to corners, image clean. 

This print was first published in 1826 and this is the second printing, from Thomas McLean's collection "Cruishankiana, an assemblage of the most celebrated works of George Cruikshank."  It is an etching, printed from the original engraved copper plate, uncoloured as issued. The scene is the end of term party in what appears to be a private nursery school, with the parents ranged around and being served sweetmeats, boys in a heap and girls dancing to an animated violin player. The detail and characters are delightful. George Cruikshank is best known as one of the main illustrators of Dickens. He gained great popularity for his gentle satire and observations upon life, particularly that of the domestic middle class.
