A genuinely unusual and impressive vintage cut crystal decanter with an architectural design that I have not been able to match to a specific maker or pattern.

DECANTER DETAILS:

The decanter has deep geometric diamond cutting and two striking stepped bands/collars which give the piece its unusual architectural silhouette. The restrained diagonal cutting and the chunky stepped/collared design gives it a nice balance between traditional cut-crystal styling and a more modern look that would suit contemporary interiors.

The base is impressive, featuring deep radial/starburst-style cutting which produces wonderful light refraction. The effect is especially noticeable when the decanter is displayed in sunlight or in cabinet lighting.

The original stopper is distinctive. It is a faceted/columnar geometric stopper with a scalloped/serrated top profile, adding to the character of the piece.

The decanter is approximately 27 cm tall with the stopper fitted and measures approximately 9.5 cm across the base. It is heavy, weighing 1.47 kg and comfortably holds approximately 600 mL.

There are no maker's marks, labels or other identifying marks present, so the exact manufacturer, country of manufacture and precise date cannot be confirmed. The design could be described as an "updated Georgian/Regency style with Anglo-Irish cut-glass features."

CONDITION:
Excellent overall vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks or other damage to the decanter or stopper. The glass presents exceptionally well with only very slight surface wear consistent with previous storage/use. The stopper is complete and fits correctly.
