Brandon Flowers of The Killers has released solo albums at logarithmic pace, first in 2010, then in 2015 and now in 2026. While the second of those, The Desired Effect, dealt more in sumptuous desert power rock with heavy throwback charge, Thrasher goes straight for the gullet of family history, wading into country and Americana territories, in an express follow-up to The Killers' 2021 album Pressure Machine. Both records deal with Flowers' childhood in Nephi, Utah, and are deliberate odes to his father, who would play him Cash, Springsteen and Jennings on repeat.
