Texas Peripherals 5.25-Inch Floppy Drive
TRS-80 Model III • 10-5355-001 • Full-Height SSDD Drive
IMPORTANT CONDITION DISCLOSURE
Removed from an operational donor computer, but was not read/write tested after removal.
Drive is therefore sold AS-IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR.

You are purchasing an original Texas Peripherals full-height 5.25-inch floppy disk drive removed from a Radio Shack/Tandy TRS-80 Model III computer.

The donor computer powered on, operated normally and produced a normal video display before its CRT tube was damaged during shipping. Because the CRT was no longer usable, it made more sense to part out the computer than attempt a complete restoration.

Compatibility and Buyer Responsibility

These drives were removed from a Tandy TRS-80 Model III. Texas Peripherals drives of this type were also used in some early TRS-80 Model 4 configurations, but compatibility with any computer other than the donor Model III is not guaranteed.

Drive selection in the Model III can depend on the computer’s original ribbon-cable wiring. Buyers should compare the model number, connectors, mounting arrangement and electrical requirements with their equipment before purchasing.

This is a genuine Texas Peripherals drive. Similar to certain Tandon TM-100 mechanisms but are not being represented or sold as a Tandon drive.
