The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve (often shortened to Summit Bechtel Reserve or SBR) is a massive 14,000-acre high-adventure base owned and operated by Scouting America. Located in Fayette and Raleigh counties near Beckley, West Virginia, it serves as the permanent home of the National Scout Jamboree and features some of the largest outdoor adventure facilities in the world.

Jamboree’s hosted:

2013 National Scout Jamboree: The inaugural event at SBR, drawing over 56,000 participants and guests. The influx temporarily turned the reserve into the third-largest city in West Virginia.

2017 National Scout Jamboree: The second national gathering at the venue, focusing on high adventure and leadership.

2023 National Scout Jamboree: Originally scheduled for 2021, this jamboree was postponed and rescheduled to 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It brought together roughly 15,000 scouts and leaders.

2026 National Scout Jamboree: Held recently from July 22 to July 31, 2026. This special event aligned with the Semiquincentennial (250th anniversary) of American Independence, celebrating with special performances and community service hubs.

International Jamboree: The facility is highly regarded on the global stage and has hosted one major international scouting event to date:24th World Scout Jamboree (2019): Held from July 22 to August 2, 2019. SBR welcomed over 43,000 scouts from more than 150 countries. The event was uniquely co-hosted by three national organizations: Boy Scouts of America, Scouts Canada, and Asociación de Scouts de México, operating under the official theme "Unlock a New World".
