Up for auction is a great pair of Vintage Post Edwardian Era Green Leather Lace Up Boots that are between the size of a US9 and 9 1/2. The numbers inside the shafts read as follows: 570 1633J and imprinted at the top shaft is "INTO CO-OPERATIVE FITCHBURGH". The leather is in amazing shape being very soft and supple while being very thick and sturdy. These are very well preserved from nasty scratches or gouges. There is age wear on the top of the shoes and there rear of both ankles and heels. There is also some sewing repair on the rear ankle seam of the right boot. This is the classic Victorian/Edwardian boot design with a single mule with two separate full length shafts sewn into it. All the external seam work is intact.
The inside cotton twill lining is very clean and in good condition except for the wear through at the side inside heels of both boots. The leather insoles are in great condition but do show imprinting in the toe areas. Both have worn down felt/wool heel pads and mostly so in the right boot. The yellow/gold velvet 1 1/2" band across the high tops is in great shape and the leather banding along the eyelets is in excellent condition as well. There are 21 pairs of external eyelets to lace up. Both leather tongues are in excellent shape and have full cloth backing with tears in the right tongue.
The bottom leather soles are still very thick and show wear with a lot of leather still present. The wooden French Spool Heels are in great shape (There is a small gap in the right heel) and have most all of the leather heel caps on them. These are still quite wearable!
DISCLAIMER: Although these shoes may be worn (like many antique shoes), this seller will not be held responsible for the following: torn eyelets, tearing of seams inside or outside, separating or tearing of leather due to wearing. Please bear in mind, these shoes are well over 1 Century old and while in appearance seams and leather may appear intact (or if difference otherwise noted) integrity or durability cannot and will not be guaranteed due to the age of antique shoes.
