Mr John J Roach
Dear Sir/ I was this day with Mr Sater & Walk to get your adress wishing to write you concerning a dispute between myself & your Mother about some transactions of yours and mine in the year 1828 charging me with Rags Rope and potting which I don't dispute and they give me credit for five Reams of paper sold on Commission at $2.50 per Ream which is only half price. Now if you recollect I sold you my load all but 5 Reams of paper & loaded with rags & paid you for them and I asked leave to leave my 5 Reams paper till I come again you asked me what you might sell it for I told you $5 and afterwards I was to see you had sold one ream by retail at the rate of six dollars I then told you you might take $4.50—I then sold the other to Mr J Coulson for second paper at $4.50 and gives him an order for it and he neglected calling for it till it was sold—now I think there has been some mistake or perhaps the old man did not understand our dealings and entered it down in the book wrong—I wish you would recollect about it and inform me by letter your Opinion about the matter and Indoing you’ll much Oblige Yours most Respectfully
