BUCK’S STATEMENT:
Picture the belt rack in a downtown men’s shop sometime in the 1960s—pressed trousers, polished shoes, a tucked-in button-down and a narrow black leather belt finishing everything off. Before oversized buckles and heavy Western styling took over, belts like this were clean, understated and built to disappear into a man’s everyday wardrobe. This old American-made example has that unmistakable mid-century simplicity: black leather, a slim rectangular silver-tone buckle and just enough texture in the hide to remind you it came from another time.
Stamped inside “Top Grain Cowhide on Bonded Leather – Made in U.S.A.” with size 38 and additional factory markings. The belt measures approximately 44 inches in total length and about 1 inch wide. It shows genuine vintage wear throughout, including creasing, surface wear and wear around the adjustment holes, giving the black leather a wonderfully broken-in character rather than the sterile appearance of something new. A great surviving everyday piece for a vintage wardrobe, Ivy/Trad styling, mid-century menswear collection, rockabilly look or simply someone who appreciates old American-made goods.
