Replica of a baroque sun ring.
This fully functional Replica of a so-called Peasant ring was modeled after one historical sun ring, a ring sundial from 1721, which was invented by Prussian monks.
The Pawn ring is a so-called Height sundial and is also called a sun ring or Ring sundial and worn on a leather strap around the neck.
On the outside of the pawn ring there is the inscription: JFMAMJ - JASOND and on the inside: 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8.
The sun ring was already in the 15th century. century by astronomers Regiomontanus and Peuerbach was invented and was still in use until the 19th century. In the 19th century it was primarily used in rural areas to determine the time of day.
The ring sundial is made of high quality Bronze manufactured and also silver plated available.
