The MAP sensor measures intake manifold pressure so the ECU can calculate air density and set correct fuel delivery for the 4B11, 4B12 or 4G69 engine.
On the Ralliart and EVO X in particular, a drifting signal often shows up as boost-related surging under hard acceleration.
