I am pleased to offer an interesting original postcard showing an imagined view of the White Star Liner Olympic being escorted by a flotilla of small craft. Describing Olympic as the largest vessel in the world, (which she was before Titanic) this card dates to her May 1911 completion Looking closely, apart from Olympic, I think the only real vessel is the small rowing boat with two occupants in the foreground! Olympic is portrayed as though she is at full speed- so far as I know her trials did not include a top speed test! This is one of the least commonly seen cards for some reason and was published by Walton of Belfast, whose views are usually without compromise.
