Vintage Parisian Street Scene Watercolors (2) - J.W. Hughes Galleries (Detroit, MI)

Offered for sale is a set of two original, vintage watercolor and ink illustrations. These pieces were brought back from Europe between the 1940s and 1960s and were subsequently framed by the renowned J.W. Hughes Galleries of Detroit, Michigan. They capture characteristic Parisian street scenes with a lively and expressive touch. One scene depicts a bustling street leading toward a grand domed building—reminiscent of the Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre—complete with a street-side restaurant featuring a classic striped awning and figures strolling through the square. The companion piece features a charming neighborhood street scene with an "Epicerie" (grocery shop) and a café, also with iconic striped awnings, all set beneath the distant, recognizable silhouette of the Eiffel Tower.
