This beautiful vintage Russian lacquer trinket box features a charming, hand-painted folk art scene of a couple seated on a bench, with the man playing an accordion. Crafted in the traditional papier-mâché style, this round box opens to reveal a classic, vibrant red lacquered interior and weighs approximately 6.5 oz. The item is in good vintage condition, showing normal signs of age and handling. There is noticeable fine crazing and surface cracking in the clear lacquer finish across the top lid, along with some minor surface scratches and tiny flecks of finish wear around the rims. The box remains structurally sound with a securely fitting lid. I believe this is from the early 90s not positive.
