Rare Vintage Tissot Carrousel Visiodate Automatic Ref. 44590-1 – Original Box & Bezel Set – Fully Restored & Serviced

For sale is a rare and distinctive vintage Tissot Carrousel Automatic, reference 44590-1, dating from approximately the late 1960s / early 1970s.

Watch serial number: 43590.

Introduced by Tissot in 1968, the Carrousel was conceived as an unusual and highly versatile watch featuring a system of interchangeable functional bezels, allowing both the appearance and functionality of the watch to be changed in seconds.

This example is particularly interesting from a collector's perspective as it is offered with its original Tissot presentation box and original interchangeable bezel accessories, a combination that has become increasingly difficult to find today.

Restoration & Service

The watch underwent a complete restoration and full mechanical service on 3 January 2025.

The work included:

• Complete mechanical overhaul of the movement
• Complete functional inspection and servicing of the watch

The watch is in excellent overall condition, showing only light signs of wear consistent with careful use. It has been professionally cleaned, fully restored and serviced and presents very well overall.

The result is a very attractive vintage Carrousel retaining its distinctive period character while benefiting from a recent comprehensive restoration and mechanical overhaul.
