Antique 1925 Pompeian Bronze Co. “The Emancipator” Abraham Lincoln bookends.

Rare hand-painted Art Deco pair depicting Lincoln signing the Emancipation Proclamation. Outstanding original pair of approximately 100-year-old Pompeian Bronze Company bookends, copyrighted 1925 and titled “The Emancipator.”The detailed relief depicts Abraham Lincoln seated at his desk with the Emancipation Proclamation while a dramatic winged allegorical figure stands above him. The orange and green hand-painted background provides striking contrast against the dark sculptural figures and gives this version substantially more visual character than an unpainted example.
The reverse of each bookend is embossed:
THE EMANCIPATOR

COPYRIGHT 1925 POMPEIAN BRONZE CO.
