Sourced in France and probably dating back to the 1930s, this fabulous little basket is in remarkable condition for its age. Handwoven in unpeeled willow, it's a perfect miniature of a full-size shopping or market basket, made especially as a toy for young children. Today, it makes a beautiful decorative object. Or it can be used as kitchen worktop storage for garlic, perhaps? Back then, all styles of basket were copied for play, and I currently have another listing of a similar size and age basket in a different style.
