FRANZ ERHARD WALTHER: WERKMONOGRAPHIE
by Götz Adriani
Verlag M. DuMont Schauberg, Köln, 1972 | Softcover, 281pp | 20 x 24.5 cm | First Edition
A monograph on the German artist Franz Erhard Walther, edited by Götz Adriani. The volume covers Walther's works from 1955–1963 and material relating to the 1. Werksatz, 1963–1969. It includes an English introduction and photographic material by Timm Rautert.
Bound in fluorescent green and black softcovers, featuring a photographic image and bold modernist typography. The cover also carries the DuMont Kunst Praxis and DuMont International branding. The graphic treatment is particularly characteristic of early-1970s German art publishing and makes this an interesting example of period artist-monograph design.
Good condition: Front cover with creasing, sirface wear and an area of loss along the lower edge. Internally clean and tightly bound, with mild age-toning to pages and pencil markings to the front free endpaper. Text free of annotations.
