This is a fascinating book, very ambitious in scope! It draws on history, archaeology, anthropology, biology and economics - but it is not stuffy academic factoids. Tannahill weaves a compelling narrative that is enhanced by many illustrations throughout.

I bought this book used, but it is in very good condition. I take excellent care of my books in my smoke-free environment.

Notes on condition:

dust jacket: clean and crisp, no marks or tears; slight wear at top of spine, but protected in Mylar sleeve before much damage done

cover: red cloth boards with gold stamped lettering on front board and green cloth spine with gold stamped lettering - all clean, no marks or dents

interior pages: clean and crisp, no marks or rips

sewn binding: all pages secure
