Up for sale is a highly collectible, beautiful pre-owned physical CD copy of Tool’s progressive metal masterpiece, Lateralus.
This is the coveted original 2001 first pressing featuring the famous manufacturing error where Track 9 is misspelled as "Lateralis" on the back of the translucent black plastic slipcover. Because this typo was caught and corrected very early in production, complete copies in this condition are incredibly difficult to find.
This set is 100% complete with the dark, smoky translucent plastic slipcover and the clear overlay anatomical page booklet designed by artist Alex Grey.
Condition Details:
- Outer Slipcover Box: Very Good (VG). This fragile outer mylar sleeve has survived beautifully. It shows minor standard shelf wear, including a small white nick/scuff along the top edge where the dark finish rubbed slightly. It structurally holds the case firmly and slides smoothly.
- Disc (Playing Surface): Near Mint (NM). The playing surface is mirror-bright, remarkably clean, and free of distracting scratches or heavy scuffs. It has been tested and plays flawlessly from track 1 to 13.
- Internal Booklet & Jewel Case: Near Mint (NM). The plastic multi-layered transparency pages are crisp, perfectly clear, and free of any bends, cloudiness, or thumb creases. The unique purple-tinted jewel case has no cracks or broken hinges.
Shipping & Handling:
This is an important piece of physical media history. To protect the fragile plastic slipcase from cracking or scratching in transit, it will be wrapped in thick layers of bubble wrap and shipped securely inside a solid cardboard box—never a thin bubble mailer. Ships quickly with tracking included!
