An early Stanley 4 1/2 smoothing plane. Seems to be a type 7, with 1892 patent dates.
The handle/tote has completely broken and needs replacing. Other than that it is in good condition. It’s been an excellent user, but I prefer my wooden bodied planes now, thus I never got around to replacing the handle.

Disassembled and cleaned so you can see the castings are okay.

The iron seems to be original, also has patent dates for 1890s.

Mark on the cheek which may be a repaired crack (pictured).
