Original antique divided-back postcard postally used from the tiny community of Lloyd, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
The front features a colorful floral illustration with orange-yellow flowers and blue blossoms accompanied by the verse:
“Chrysanthemum—The hope of love”
with a short sentimental poem beneath.
The real collecting interest is on the reverse, which bears a circular LLOYD / PA. postmark. The year appears to be 1911, and the card is franked with a 1¢ green Benjamin Franklin stamp.
It was addressed to Mr. John Morrell, Idaho Falls, Idaho, providing an interesting piece of early cross-country postal correspondence from rural Pennsylvania to Idaho.
Lloyd was a very small postal community in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. The Lloyd post office was established in 1868 and discontinued in 1935, giving this card a genuine DPO (Discontinued Post Office) cancel.
Historical evidence for Lloyd is particularly interesting because the place itself has largely disappeared from modern maps. An 1875 atlas of Morris Township explicitly records “Post Office Lloyd, Pa.” among the area's settlements and landmarks.
Modern geographic records continue to recognize the location as “Lloyd Post Office (historical)” in Tioga County.
This makes the postcard a nice example of postal history from a small and essentially vanished Pennsylvania community.

Fair to good antique used condition with substantial age and handling wear.
Card shows corner and edge wear, surface spotting/foxing, staining and discoloration, particularly on the reverse. There are several small creases and surface marks visible on the illustrated side. Writing and postal markings remain present.
The Lloyd, Pennsylvania town cancel remains identifiable, which is the primary postal-history feature of the card.
