Original antique postcard featuring the Douglas County Court House in Omaha, Nebraska, mailed in 1910 from Irvington, Nebraska.
The front presents an attractive color view captioned “Court House, Omaha, Neb.” showing the imposing former Douglas County Courthouse and surrounding grounds.
Of particular interest to postal-history collectors, the postcard was not mailed from Omaha. It bears a circular IRVINGTON, NEBR. postmark dated March 9, 1910.
Irvington was a small Douglas County community northwest of Omaha. Postal-history records show:

The Irvington post office was therefore active for approximately 88 years before being discontinued, making this an appealing Nebraska DPO (Discontinued Post Office) item.
At the time this card was mailed in 1910, the Irvington office had been operating for about 33 years.
The postmark is quite attractive. The town name IRVINGTON is readable around the upper portion of the circular date stamp, with NEBR. appearing at the bottom. The March 9 date is particularly strong.
The card also bears a 1-cent green Benjamin Franklin stamp, properly paying the postcard rate.
The picture side shows the historic Douglas County Courthouse in Omaha, an especially appropriate subject for a card mailed from elsewhere within Douglas County.
The imposing courthouse pictured here was the late-19th-century Douglas County courthouse that preceded Omaha's present courthouse. This gives the card additional appeal to collectors of:

Good antique used condition with expected wear from age, handling and postal use.
There is visible corner and edge wear, including rounding and small areas of surface loss at the corners. Minor surface marks and age toning are present.
The reverse contains extensive original handwritten correspondence.
The Irvington, Nebraska postmark is reasonably clear and identifiable, with the town name and March 9 date visible. The original green 1-cent Franklin stamp remains attached and bears the cancellation.
