This is an eBay listing for a 1991 Mitsubishi Pajero 2.5 turbodiesel.

This listing is quite long, so to aid in your decision whether to purchase my vehicle, here is some key information:

Engine: starts fine and moves under its own power. It can be driven onto a trailer.
Glow plugs: Manual switch fitted to dash
4WD system: Not tested at speed but shifts between 2WD/4WD/4WD Hi/Lo.

Interior: grey cloth, with grey carpet and grey trim.
Electric windows: work, but need adjustment
Electric sunroof: does not open (motor and electrics believed to be good)

We put it through an MOT test last month so you could have an idea of its current condition. You can find the results on the DVLA’s MOT website.

Biggest problem: Frame/chassis rust. Ideally needs a full body-off restoration. Two brake calipers are seized, but not badly enough that it can’t move under its own power. Will not pass a UK MOT without significant work. 

Other problems: The battery has failed. I will put in a battery so it has power when you take a look or when you buy it, but I will need to remove it when you take the vehicle away. Suspension needs work. Tyres need replacing. Two brake calipers are slightly seized. Take a look at the MOT history for full details. The front passenger wind deflector is damaged and part of it has been removed.

History: A substantial service file is included which is almost complete for all work carried out in my ownership.

Reason for sale: Sadly, rust became a problem, and while we intended to have it rectified, by the time we were in a position to do so, it was no longer a viable project.

This vehicle has been in my family since September 2000 – nearly twenty six years. For all intents and purposes, we are the only UK owners as the first owner (presumably importer) owned it for less than two months.

We have a 21 page typed up service history for the vehicle, created from the invoices present in the service file. This history details regular services amongst a wealth of other maintenance work.

This was our family’s primary vehicle for many years and has taken us around the country many times. It was supremely comfortable on-road, and has a well deserved reputation of being an extremely capable off-road vehicle, something we took advantage of a few times.

Considerable money has been spent on servicing and maintenance over the years, in including a replacement engine in 2005 when the camshaft snapped in the original engine. The 4WD running gear engages correctly, although it hasn’t been used “in anger” for many years.

The interior is in good condition for its age. The front seats are in good overall condition, and their built-in suspension/dampening works.

The middle row seat folds down then lifts up out of the way. Unfortunately it no longer slides forward when folded flat, as its control wires have stretched with age, and a spring came loose. (It’s supplied with the vehicle). The two folding rear seats are present and lightly used. One has paint splatters on its rear cover.

The carpets are all present but would benefit from a thorough clean with a carpet shampoo machine.

All electrics and lights work as expected, excepting the electric aerial, which is missing its mast. A replacement mast is included. Even the original factory magnetic torch is present (tho I don't know if its bulb works!).

If money were no object, we would keep it and give it a full body-off restoration. Unfortunately, this not something we can take on at this time, and rather than have it sit in a corner of our yard slowly rusting, we’ve decided to move it on, hoping someone else can ideally restore it, or at the least, use it as an excellent parts donor.
