It took us a minute to figure out what this was. It appears to be the upper optics for a periscope that would have been installed in an armored vehicle or tank, probably the M19 or M24 run by the US Army, both introduced towards the end of WWII.

It's in great shape - doesn't look like it ever saw service in the field. There's a serial number in one of the photos if you look closely.
