This camera and 50mm lens combination is the pride of my "Survivor" collection. A sane person would have trashed it, given the condition that I found it in. But not me. You see, it had a great shutter, accurate rangefinder (just needed a little cleaning… okay, a lot of cleaning), good Geiss lens mount, good shutter action on all speeds, good lens glass and clean aperture iris. I replaced the cap, cleaned and lubed the rangefinder, cleaned the whole body and then spent untold hours on the rest of the metal. It came out great, something I could be proud of. Took excellent photos, also. Now it is time to pass it on.

This Geiss modified C4 is in Excellent Survivor Condition and is fully functional. I have occasionally exercised the shutter over the years, and it works perfectly. The rangefinder is clean and bright, as well as spot on for range checks at 3 ft, 25ft and infinity, and vertical registration is excellent. The Geiss added lens attachment system is smooth and tight.

The 50mm lens is in good cosmetic condition and excellent mechanically. The 100mm Lithagon lens is in Excellent++ to Near Mint cosmetic condition, with a few very minor surface blemishes commensurate with age. See photos. Focus is smooth and easy for both lenses as is aperture adjustment. There is no lubricant visible on the iris leaves, and there are no significant problems with the glass in either lens, but there is a faint halo in the 100mm objective lens. However, if you choose to shoot a roll of film through the camera, you will get good images, but the photos may show a soft focus. There is no fungus, prominent scratches or lens separation to affect the resulting photos, but, as many of us are finding out, some coatings and cements used are now showing age degradation in some lenses. An original Enna case is included for the 100mm lens.

Also included is a basic early model Argus 35/100mm viewfinder in near mint condition with bright as-new image transmission. It works perfectly.

As seen in the photos, the camera, lenses and accessories show extremely well in a display.

There is not a lot more that I can say about this camera. Truly an exceptionally nice survivor camera, and one I was proud to have in my collection for many decades.
