Vintage Japanese Somayaki double-walled pottery tea set, featuring the distinctive celadon green crackle glaze, pierced double-wall construction and hand-painted gold horse motifs.

10-piece set includes:

* 8 double-walled tea cups

* 1 lidded tea holder/caddy

* 1 lidded sugar holder

The cups feature Somayaki’s characteristic pierced outer walls with a glazed inner cup, crackled celadon green finish, earthy brown detailing and gold-painted horses. The two coordinating holders have decorative pierced lids and round finials.

Marked JAPAN on the underside.

This is a particularly striking Mid Century Modern Japanese tea set with a wonderful mix of traditional Japanese pottery and MCM design. The muted celadon, brown and gold palette also works beautifully with Japandi, wabi-sabi, organic modern, eclectic and collected interiors.

Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear and variation to the glaze and gold decoration. The extensive crackle/crazing is characteristic of the glaze and part of the overall appearance. Please review photos closely for individual condition and details.
