This attractive early view looks directly toward the temple along its formal, palm-lined approach, with the distinctive white temple building visible in the distance.
The Laie Hawaii Temple is one of the most historically significant LDS temples. Dedicated by Church President Heber J. Grant on November 27, 1919, it was the fifth operating temple of the Church and the first temple completed outside Utah. It also became an especially important religious center for Latter-day Saints throughout Hawaii, Polynesia, the Pacific and parts of Asia.
Architecturally, the temple is unusual among early LDS temples. It was constructed largely of concrete made using locally available volcanic rock and designed without the tall tower or spires associated with many later temples. The original structure is in the form of a Grecian cross, and the temple grounds and long palm-lined approach became one of its most recognizable features.
The postcard is unused and has a divided-back layout with faint correspondence/address markings and stamp box.

Good vintage condition overall. Image remains sharp, clean and well contrasted, with excellent architectural and landscape detail. Minor age toning and typical light edge/corner wear are present. There appears to be a small green ink/marking at the upper left corner of the image side. Reverse is unused with light age toning. Please examine photographs for exact condition.
