Sourced in SW France, this is a mechanical wall clock made for the SNCF French railway offices by renowned clockmakers Spendia of Paris in the late 1940s to 50s. Cleaned and fully working, it keeps good time. The case is green-painted steel, with hand-painted coach lines in gold around the aluminium clock face and stylised Art Deco numerals in black. The glass face hinges up to allow access to the winder, and we are including a key with the clock. A fabulous mid-century industrial timepiece from a very good maker, Spendia having supplied many factories and workshops as well as municipal buildings such as stations and schools. The overall condition of the exterior is good, with just some scuffs to the paintwork here and there (see pictures).
