Offering this full-leather antique copy of "The Life of Mrs. Mary Fletcher, Consort and Relict of the Rev. John Fletcher, Vicar of Madeley, Salop.," compiled from her journal and other authentic documents by Henry Moore. New York: Lane & Scott, 1850, later edition published for the Methodist Episcopal Church. Original leather hardcover with red & gold spine label, frontispiece illustration of Mary Fletcher (as widow of the reverend), small 8vo, pp. 395. Mary Fletcher (1739–1815) was an incredibly influential pioneer and one of the most prominent female preachers in the early Methodist movement.

Overall condition is Fair. Leather boards have moderate wear with some leather loss and board exposure at the corners. The exterior front joint has a 2-inch split from the bottom up, despite which binding remains intact. Inside the frontis portrait has corresponding 2-inch start/detachment and the title page a tear in same area (see picture). Interior has age toning and some foxing, text remains totally legible. Back endpapers have some penciling, else no other writing inside. Flawed but still a valuable piece of Methodist history!
