He was born in Mistretta, Sicily, on October 9, 1897, and died in Buenos Aires in 1973. He arrived in Argentina in 1900 and became a naturalized citizen in 1919. He graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts in 1918 as a National Professor of Drawing. He also taught there. During his trip to Europe in 1938, the Ministry of Justice commissioned him to study industrial technical drawing plans at similar schools in France, England, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The General Inspectorate of Technical Education commissioned him to study and develop a new analytical and graphic program for drawing courses in Argentine industrial schools. He attended the National Salon beginning in 1925 and also attended the salons in Rosario, La Plata, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Bahía Blanca, and La Rioja. He exhibited individually at La Peña in 1926 and at the Friends of the Art of Buenos Aires in 1934. He won Third Prize at the National Salon in 1926 and 1927, Second Prize in 1928 and 1932, and the Acquisition Prize in 1950. First Prize for Ceramics at the National Salon of Decorative Art in 1924 and First Prize in 1925. Third Prize at the Salon of La Plata in 1926 and Acquisition Prize in 1934. He also received Third Prize in the National Competition for the Monument to Argentine Independence in Humahuaca, Jujuy, in 1928. He created, among others, the Monument to General Urquiza in Buenos Aires City, the Monument to Rivadavia in Villa María Córdoba, the Monument to Argentine Independence in Humahuaca, the Monument to the Constituent Congress in Santa Fe, and the Monument to General San Martín in Quilmes.
