This is the Circuit newsletter for class 27 fans everywhere. This is edition #22 dated September/October 1988,  covering events in the Summer and consisting of 14 pages, unstapled.

It's packed full of news and articles and B & W photos of variable quality...

The main feature includes the 'Gen' pages of passenger workings. With the 27s now history, it was left to various plucky class 26 locos to carry forward the type 2 action... - amazing that these small low powered freight locos were still used to replace other non-available traction.

Workings include Glasgow - Carlisle workings, quite a number of Carstairs to Edinburgh portions, assisting / rescuing failures including a trip to Inverness by 26040 on 1H15, Edinburgh to Kirkcaldy, Cardenden and Dundee services, the Oban line, a trip to Stranraer from Ayr for 26031 on 1S74 (after a 47 failure), the very rare working of 26002 and 024 on 1M47 Carstairs portion, 26023 rescuing a failed 47/7 from Montrose to Queen Street, another massive working to Inverness - after 47003 failed, 26011 dragged the train to Perth, with 26035 taking over! It worked the 1815 back as far as Perth. The same day 26031 worked the 1603 Queen Street to Arbroath after another 47 failed at Eastfield. Perhaps another contender for biggest working of the month was 26038 working the southbound Clansman from Perth to Mossend......and many more.

Another article looks at the latest class 26s to be withdrawn, locations and cutting notes - some at Glasgow Works, for example.

There is also a detailed look at Vic Berry's Leicester scrapyard, with dates of arrivals, cutting dates for all classes such as class 20s, 31s, Peaks etc, along with a lucky few locos leaving there for preservations etc.

An essential read if you are a fan of Scottish Region type 2s.
