A wonderfully characterful antique wooden ladder-back chair bearing an original Goodyers of London manufacturer's / retailer's badge to the underside.
The metal badge identifies Goodyers, London, with Regent Street and Bond Street addresses, providing an interesting provenance to this attractive period chair.
The chair features a tall and elegantly proportioned ladder back with five shaped horizontal rails, turned uprights and traditional stretcher construction below.
The seat is upholstered in an attractive aged material with decorative stud detailing around the edge, providing a lovely contrast against the warm colour and patina of the wooden frame.
Its slender proportions and understated design make this a particularly versatile piece. It would work beautifully as an occasional chair, bedroom chair, hallway chair, desk chair or simply as a decorative period accent piece.
The surviving Goodyers London badge is a particularly nice feature and is photographed as part of the listing.
