Martin who was born in the year of 1835 in Switzerland. Mr. Martin was a watchmaker by trade and eventually resided in Hoboken New Jersey with his wife and two sons. Mr. Martin managed to amass a large collection of newspapers and other American and foreign paper ephemera. Discovered decades ago in the backyard shed of the brownstone he lived in and kept stored until now. In his collection were many “clippings” of articles and illustrations and other clippings of news articles as well as single pages of Puck Magazine, The Judge Magazine and a collection of Harper’s Weekly as well as other American and foreign paper ephemera.
