Henry Clarence Whaite (1895-1978). English painter, print maker, designer & author. Cousin of the Victorian painter H. C. Whaite (1828-1912). Whaite studied at Manchester, the Slade & University College London. Published ST CHRISTOPHER IN ENGLISH MEDIEVAL WALLPAINTING for which he made sixty watercolour drawings now held by the Society of Antiquaries in London. He designed ceramics & textile designs and was an enthusiastic print maker. Co-wrote FATHER & DAUGHTER AS ARTISTS with his daughter, the well known artist Gillian Whaite (1934-2012).
