Jim Nicholson 1924 - 1996 Oil on Board.

Jim was from Otley in Yorkshire, but moved to Edinburgh to start a job in advertising.

He later joined the National Trust as its first artist.

Jim apparently enjoyed hill walking and this allowed him access to remote areas, especially the North West coast and Inner and Outer Hebrides.

This particular painting is Rhum from Eigg.
